Zapata Mexican Restaurant

I ordered the chicken rice and queso. It was delicious. Our server was very sweet and prompt with her service here. Our drinks stayed full. I loved the experience. I highly recommend this place if you're hungry for good Mexican cuisine.

Affordable great Mexican food. Fast service and nice atmosphere

The chips and salsa were good and prices and service were good! The food was okay, not great—tortillas in the tin foil wrapper were stale and strong, not good!! Looking for a place with better tasting authentic homemade Mexican—NOT Tex-Mex!Like Spanish rice that has little tomato flavor, but that toasted rice flavor that’s delicious!!!

This is our favorite local Mexican restaurant. They have the best salsa around!

Great service. One of the best red enchilada sauces in Birmingham.

Old reliable. I'm a bit prejudiced about this place; it's the first restaurant, in fact the very first place my wife and I went on our very first date. We're still happily together, and we occasionally slow down and rekindle the flames (of love, not heartburn) by returning to the scene of the quesadillas. Anyway, we like the food served here-- it's been consistently good. Sometimes even great. We recommend both the food, and the nice waitstaff.
