Under the Oak Cafe

There was one thing we knew for sure about vendors for our wedding day, that was our caterer: Under the Oak Catering. Since my husband had worked with Blake in the past, he knew that they were the only people he could trust to cater his wedding. We loved their dedication to local and sustainable ingredients, and they were more than happy to work with our family style menu. From the perfect cocktail hour with grand charcuterie display and passed appetizers, to the salads, and finally the entrees and sides, everything tasted delectable. To this day we are told it is the best wedding food our guests have ever had and they ask how they can get more of it. Don’t pass up the opportunity for Under the Oak Catering to be your wedding caterers, you will not regret it.

I bought food for dinner tonight and our Easter dinner. I’m glad I tried everything because it is awful. I’ll need to cook after all. Chicken salad - no flavor Very blandChicken tacos - Chicken was very dry. My family was hungry so they ate these. Strawberry salad - the honey vinaigrette dressing was straight up vinegar. We had to throw it away. Absolutely no honeySunchoke salad is like eating a bowl of pickles - 75% of this salad is pickles. I hope the 15.00 a lb ham is good. It looks the same as the ham from food lion that was 1.77 a lb. Must have been a really bad day for the cook! I’ll never go back.

If I could give more stars, I would! This place is an absolute must! It is, without a doubt, worth the drive from wherever you are! The food is fresh, local-sourced, sustainable and delicious and the desserts are hand-crafted and spectacular! The owners (Blake and Megan) are involved in every aspect of the restaurant. Under The Oak Cafe is their life's work and passion, and it shows. I highly recommend!!
