The Cangiano's embrace family tradition in the food business that dates back to 1919, when grandma Cangiano opened her first Salumeria, stocked with the freshest Italian products. Tre Otto was opened in 2009 by Louis and Lauren Cangiano, the 4th generation of Cangiano's providing New York with authentic Italian food prepared from family recipes. The restaurant offers a casual inspired lunch menu as well as an elegant dinner menu that reflects the best traditions of Sicilian food. In the twenty plus years that Louis and Lauren have lived in the Carnegie Hill area, they have always searched for a neighborhood Italian restaurant that felt warm and welcoming - an extension of their own home - where the food was superb and where the atmosphere was magical. They believe that you will find this at Tre Otto.

Good food and service. A little bit pricey

I enjoyed the Tagliatelle Bolognese. It wasn't the greatest meal I've ever had (maybe a little overpriced for what it was), but the portion was extremely generous and the sauce was great! Friendly servers, and I plan to go back when I'm in this neighborhood. It's conveniently located close to Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Very pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and food quality. Service could be improved. I had to call service to my table several times. But the place was fantastic. I will go back

I loved my meal and dessert. The sangria was delcious, not watered down like other places. I was going to have the pappardelle but ended up getting the linguini (lucky for me the bf got the pappardelle) and both was excellent.

The food is passable, but the service is lacking. The bartender-waitress was rude to myself and my husband when we were asking for drink options and ordering dinner. She cut both of us of when ordering and had to be prompted to retrieve parmesan and pepper when our entrees arrived. Other tables seemed to not have an issue with service. Finally, she hung out with her regulars at the bar instead of taking our dessert order. We finally flagged down another waitress to get the check instead.

Even though I was left hanging a bit, at least thirty minutes, waiting for my bill after lunch, probably due to a shift change, I will still give this place top marks. The food was truly spectacular - exquisite marinated octopus, so perfectly tender just as you'd get in Italy. A creamy burrata draped generously with rich paper-thin prosciutto, which led to a bowl of one of the most perfectly authentic carbonara pastas I've ever tasted in this country. Atmosphere on a hot summer day was relaxed and buzzing, not too loud at all. And service, aside from the bit at the end, was gracious and efficient. Don't miss out on their unusual wine list, gently priced for NY, with many boutique Italian options by the glass.

The food was amazing! I'm giving it 1 star because the waitress (with the accent) thought my personality was too direct and made sure She left me know! Twice! yikes she ruined my entire experience. I'll never return.

Nice mid/higher-end spot for lunch in a strip of chains. Easy-going Italian vibe with rustic tin ceiling and much-appreciated house wine & tap beer happy hour. The pesto fusilli was unexpected good with tomato and almond. I've never been for dinner, but presumably same story.

A wonderful cozy place to go. Ambience and music are really comforting. Really romantic and relaxing. The service was prompt and friendly. Love how when someone left a fingerprint on the window the staff cleaned it immediately to make sure the place was spotless. Food was really good the pizza especially was exceptional. Bread basket was warm and delicious. Definitely going back a few more times.Went back again and completely disappointed. The bread was hard like a rock and the cheese on the pizza tasted like rubber. There was a bad stench where I was seated and the service was subpar. You can see the difference in the pictures doesn't even look like the same pizza. Definitely not going back.
