Ta-ke Sushi Restaurant

Tipped in cash, and the waitress brought out a CALCULATOR to see if I tipped generous enough (which I did for the service) and she literally stopped me. tip is always based on pre-tax amount. Pretty shocked as I’ve never encountered that in a restaurant. I used to come here a few times a month - and now I don’t think I’ll be returning....The sushi is good but be prepared to wait 15 mins or more per dish. I’ve had a few dishes that I didn’t like in the past - such as the tempura ice cream. Just shocked at the service and treatment. Unacceptable.

Our business orders from here most Fridays. Yoyo is extremely gracious and kind and the food is always top notch. This is our favorite sushi spot around. : )

Great little restaurant which is well worth trying. Inside is cosy and friendly run by a lovely Japanese couple. Food is delicious. Sushi, chirashi, udon and tempura are all good, highly recommend the beef negimaki.

Take-san doe not disappoint with his handmade traditional Japanese and fusion delights, the lobster rolls and squid in soya and butter sauce are a must. Originally from Shizuoka, Take-san emigrated to the US more than 40 years ago, he opened his Ta-Ke Sushi Restaurant on Sunset Boulevard in 2005. It's a delight to watch him prepare and serve each dish with care and precision.Having lived in Japan for more than 16 years, I can say hands-down that this is the 'must do' when in L.A. when your taste buds are screaming Japanese!Highly recommended.

SO GOOD! This is definitely my favorite sushi in LA! 4 tables and a bar so it's very cozy.

An absolute delight!The location is charming and unique, the food was incredibly delicious and the service was attentive without be stuffy. One of my favorite sushi joints I’ve ever visited.
