November 13, 2018Went here on Valentine's Day 2020. Was a great experience. The piano player is excellent and was a pleasant way to open our Charleston experience. BEST catfish dish I've ever had! Would recommend.

October 6, 2018A little bit of a wait for my meal, but totally worth it. I had the Petite Shrimp and Grits. The best in Charleston. And I've eaten at plenty of restaurants over the years here. When I come to Charleston, this is my first stop.

July 18, 2018We had a reservation and were seated by the hostess promptly. However, we were only given one menu for the 4 of us, and it was 20 minutes before we were brought water and bread. The food was good but it took over an hour once seated just to get it so, was it worth it? Meh. To make things worse, the manager was just aimlessly walking around, and never even realized the horrible service that was taking place. We ordered extra items off the menu because the portions were so small but they never came. We were so sick of waiting that we just paid and got out of there. I was embarrassed because I had brought out of town family here and the service was horrible.

June 18, 2018Casual light lunch. Wine and beautifully prepared fried green tomatoes. The sample appetizer tray was very nice. Many of the lunches served looked wonderful. Waitstaff was attentive but not hovering.

June 12, 2018Eighteen members of our group, which included nine US Army Veterans, ate at the Swamp Fox on Saturday evening, 09-22-18. We had a very nice room with three tables and six guests at each table. The food, in my opinion, was delicious. I only heard one complaint about the food. The service on the other hand left a lot to be desired. We had reservations and arrived at 5 PM, advising employees that we needed to leave at 6:30 PM because of other reservations at the symphony. The food was slow in coming and one of the servers seemed to take an excessive amount of time to look at his notes to see which table was to get the food. The dessert did not get served until about 6:35 or 6:40 PM. Not everyone was able to complete their meal. The lights had already dimmed by the time we got to the symphony. Enjoyed the she crab soup and crab cakes. Really disappointed with the service.

May 12, 2018Went for lunch and, thankfully, the food was actually very good. The shrimp and grits in particular was a standout. But when it takes 20 minutes to find out the soup of the day and you're on the verge of going elsewhere because the sevice is so poor, it leaves you with a 2-star taste in your mouth at best.
