Sugar Creek Seafood Restaurant

We were able to look out over the bay at sunset and enjoy a great meal. I had seafood quesadillas which were great. Our waitress was wonderful. I will definitely remember this!

Great place to get fresh seafood. The patio is refreshing with a nice view of the water and spot some wildlife. Food was great. The fried oysters were done perfectly as well as the fresh boiled shrimp. You can taste the freshness. They also have a gift shop with t-shirts, jewelry, and wood carvings. I would love to go back and try more seafood.

We had such a great experience! We had to drive up to Nags Head from Rodanthe because we lost electric. I had two dogs with us and they seated us out on the patio, the owner brought out a water bowl and the server was great. I ordered flounder and it was delicious. The server came back put while I was eating and said the cook was not happy about the first one he made so he made another. I told her the first one was good. She said he insisted I eat the second one. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous out on the patio. We will go back! Great food, service and dog friendly!

Nice location, setting right on the water. Very fast service. We were there early evening and got a 20% early-bird discount. The food was O.K. overall but they have a local version of clam chowder soup that is very different from regular New England chowder. The cornbread was excellent. I had fish and chips which was very good also.

Mediocre. The crab bisque was horrible. I had the oyster platter-- there were a lot of tiny oysters, more breading than oysters. Couldn't finish it. My daughter had the "prime rib", really just a well done steak with a lot of fat.

Sugar Creek was a great experience. Not only was the owner/manager (not sure which) cleaning and assisting customers, the wait staff was extremely pleasant. The whole place including bathrooms was cleanly. The view from the lower side of the restaurant is beautiful, especially during a storm. The food was great, including myself and all 5 other people in my group enjoyed their food although pricey (which is to be expected in a vacation area and at an upscale restaurant). The food was quick to be made and delivered and the wait staff is very attentive.

I hadn't been here in years. They seated us on the other side of the restaurant. Usually we sit on the side overlooking the water and we can watch the nutria play. This time, we were on the other side of the restaurant. Nice view. The food was as good as I remembered...and absolutely huge portions! I mean, I challenge you to eat everything they bring to your table for your dish. It isn't possible!

Atmosphere is a spiffy, very classy. Soon as you walk is the food smells soo good! We order the creek pasta dish and my girlfriend ordered the steamed shrimp! Can’t wait to get our food!! Let’s go Ok update. The Sugar Creek Seafood Pasta was great as far as the seafood.... BUT the pasta was cold so it really made it blah. But the place is nice and very pretty! Management needs to train their crew!

Great views, charming atmosphere, good food and service with a smile. The table next to us was extremely demanding and high maintenance but our server kept her composure and didn't let it affect her.

We came for lunch and everything was wonderful. Prompt service, seating where we asked, and a very friendly server. We didn’t even get photos of our food, but it looked, smelled and tasted wonderful. I had the yellowfin tuna and my husband had fried flounder, the kids had a grilled chicken sandwich and no complaints anywhere. The cornbread they bring out with real whipped butter was basically dessert! Don’t miss out on this delicious place, and if the weather is nice try sitting outside so you can see the views!
