Red Maple Chinese Restaurant

Story time! There we were in China, circa 2014, and we are in Shanghai at the moment. The tour guide tells us we're going to get Shanghai Dumplings for dinner. Oh did we ever?! Tower after tower of these hot, squishy pastry balls, filled with broth and mouth exploding meat, veggies, and flavor! We were hooked! This was the tastiest food and nothing we had ever experienced before. Once our feet were planted back on Utah's salty soil, we set out to find such. We found dumplings, but they did not measure up. We went to Chinatown in SanFran, tried them at XYZ... tasty, but not quite as perfect as these... here at Red Maple. We finally found our Shanghai Dumplings without a 14-hour flight.

It's pretty good not sure how authentic it may be first hand but it doesn't matter cause it's money well spent.

The authentic menu here is great, though it's frustrating that every time we try to order they try to talk us out of it. I get it, I'm not Chinese, but I legitimately like authentic food. I understand you have sesame chicken. You don't need to ask "are you sure you want this?" when I order a clay pot meal. Lose the condescension and the restaurant will be much better, as the food is great.

I got the dim sum sampler, potstickers, and orange peel chicken. BEST POTSTICKERS EVER and I have had a lot of potstickers in my life! If you want more dim sum options go for dinner and the chicken was crunchy and the sauce was really good. I will be back ASAP for sure!

The restaurant was very nice very clean well-organized delicious meals have plenty to eat we intend coming back.

After being seated our server was pretty quick to take our order, 3 enters and an appetizer. The appetizer was the 3rd item to arrive. Our first food took 40 minutes to arrive. The restaurant was less than half full do I can't imagine what the delay was. The food was tasty enough when it finally arrived. Our server was friendly

I’ve been ordering food to go now that the dining room is closed. They are getting quite efficient now. I order from the online menu and prepay online to save time. Food is fresh but they might need a little more time now that everyone is ordering takeout or delivery.

I like pretty much everything I've had at this place but the one problem stopping me from giving a 5 star is the person who cuts the chicken at this place cuts the chicken along the grain and when it cooks you get long stringy tough pieces of chicken that are VERY hard to chew and simply cutting the chicken the other direction would fix this problem entirely. After reading some other reviews this place seems to have a quality control issue that would be WELL WORTH the investment to have this issue resolved.

One of the better chinese food restaurants I have visited. Nice staff great food. Fair prices
