Octopus Japanese Fusion Restaurant

A little hole in the wall. Been around for ever (more than 20 years). Have to wait in line before the restaurant opens up....sushi is amazing. It will help you realize all of the "sushi" you have had in your life was a child's play. Eye opening experience.

Good food. Great wait staff. Hostess could have been a little more hostly. Maybe quit your job if you hate it?

Been going here with my family for years. They changed management a few times but right now it seems to be working great. The sushi rolls taste and look great. They seem to actually care since I usually find extra ingredients other places don't bother to use. Example the small orange balls called smelt egg on the outside of the roll. When you go it really shows. Also the booths are nice and large for a big guy like me. And there's a divider between the booths so you don't have to look up and see someone staring at you. We all know the feeling. Love this place.

Good restaurant, good food, good service, price fair.

This is smaller than the one in Glendale. Staff are friendly and helpful. Sushi is prepared in a timely manner and tastes good. This is my first time to sit on the bar at Octopus. It was fun and an eye opener. You will see how your sushi is made and that there is a chance that we, sushi lovers, may ingest a small amount of plastic when we eat it as the sushi preparer covers it with plastic, cut it through the plastic and disposes the plastic after that. I believe this happens in other sushi restaurants, as well. Anyway, this has adequate parking space but you may have to wait for your turn to be seated especially during peak hours.

Late night happy hour starts at 8pm on Fridays. Hot sake is always good here. The raw scallop special was delicious.....seafood is always fresh and good. They have free parking in the their own parking lot on Ventura Blvd. which is rare in this area. My family and I have been coming here for years. Good spot, great happy hour, nice atmosphere, service is decent. I like their green tea ice cream also.

The miso soup was tepid, the beer was warm and the tempura limp. I won't be going back. Maybe it was the cooks day off. But they were very pleasant.

A couple days ago I did a phone order and everything went well. However today I ordered over the phone at 12:33pm. The phone order took approximately one minute to complete. During this call the employee told me it would take 20 minutes to complete. I walked into the establishment at 12:56pm. Upon arriving the employee was not aware of the order and they scrambled to make the food on the spot. Won’t be coming back.* also the receptionist handled my food and money in one transaction. Unsanitary!

The Best!!! I have been coming here for years. It was always good, but in recent years they have blossomed into a world class sushi joint.
