November 4, 2018Fantastic meal start to finish. Everything was extremely tasty, and wonderfully prepared. I had the Sous Vide Venison - it was so flavorful and tender! My husband had the Hangar steak - great portion and it was a perfect medium rare. What a perfect place to dine for a Valentine's Dinner.

August 10, 2018"For the adventurous " it says on the menu and so it is. Flavorful, fresh and vibrant dishes. Loved the hummus and the patit fillet. Almond and white chocolate cake delicious dessert.

May 25, 2018Perfect Food. Perfect service. Supper clubs one year anniversary party was celebrated in style! I started with the octopus and the poutine. Followed by the lamb chops and the chocolate mousse dessert. Everyone was super happy with all of the food and I cannot wait to go back!

March 12, 2018Dinner at Mise En Place last night was delish! Every bite was an explosion of flavor...one of my best meals ever! It is a great place to celebrate special occasions; we came to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and the chef made it special by serving champagne to toast, a small taste of soup prior to our starters and a sweet message on our dessert. We started with the beet salad, tartine, and oysters. I had the duck breast for my main course and he had the lamb chops. For dessert we chose bread pudding. Will be return customers for sure!

February 27, 2018So glad we came to eat dinner here. They just renovated and the place is absolutely beautiful. The service was phenomenal (shout out to Annette). And wow the food! We ordered the market oysters, chimichurri octopus, pork belly, and duck croquettes. Everything was so delicious and very unique, the chef puts a twist to everything. The pork belly will melt in your mouth. The cheesecake was out of this world, forgot the exact name but it's made with goat cheese and it's so incredibly fluffy. Pictured are also a port and averna with the chocolate mousse. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

February 22, 2018Back to the meal. All in all, the food was excellent. Well cooked, well seasoned, and very pleasant to the eye. the dishes are very original and borrow from many cuisines, which is usually good, but at the same time at some points there was such a cluster of ingredients on my plate that it was hard to know what it was exactly in my mouth. Nevertheless, like i said, the food was definitely the strongest point of the meal. Even the dessert - which I usually pick at for a few bites and that's it - was gone in a hurry.

August 16, 2017Our annual birthday dinner with a friend and he chose Mise En Place. Think he know some of the staff? Anyway, down by the main campus of the U of Tampa. Nice renovations to the place. Quiet atmosphere.The salmon carpaccio [ a dish of shaved salmon] was the best I have tasted. Shared with the table and they all agreed.Our friend had the venison and it came out pretty raw. I would have sent it back, but he ate almost all . venison cant be cooked too much as it will toughen up, but this was just seared and pretty bloody. The softshell crab was tasteless. Cornmeal oysters were OK, but not the best I have had on this trip. The rest of the meal was ok, but nothing outstanding. Expensive for what was served. Next year we will try another of Tampa's finest places

June 14, 2017We only went in for drinks and apps. It's bright, appealing and nicely laid out. The drinks menu was excellent, a load of great choices for me on beers, good Gin selection and Gin cocktails for my wife, and a large range of whiskeys.I had the whole Soft-shelled crab appetizer and my wife had Scallops, both amazing. I can only imagine what the entrees are like!Service, courtesy of Shirley, was a perfect blend of polite but friendly, just how I like it.This is not a cheap restaurant but any means. In my experience high end restaurants can be divided into "It was how much?" and "That was amazing.". Mise en Place is just definitely one of the latter.

March 15, 2017I've reviewed MEP before, so I will keep this brief. I just wanted to share a photo of their Buffalo Calamari and exhort you to GO and try it! All of the lunch dishes and specials are good, especially the fried green tomato salad (just ask them to hold the red onions if you're not a big fan, as I am not).But the Buffalo Calamari, which is unfortunately only served at lunch, is so good that it's worthy of being featured on the Food Network's "Best Thing I've Ever Eaten". The calamari is fresh, which of course it should be, but is not always when going to some restaurants. Second: it is fried in the perfect batter, then tossed in house-made Buffalo sauce which is then mixed with - I think - a blue cheese crema? Topped with some pickled vegetables - the acidity of which cuts perfectly through the rich sauce.Every bite is perfection. Period. Bon Appétit
