Mi Nidito has been serving Tucson since 1952. It was then that a couple from Sonora made a decision that is still impacting the lives of their family three generations later. The decision was between opening a Mexican food restaurant or a tortilla factory. The restaurant won and that is how Mi Nidito was created.Mi Nidito was opened by Ernesto and Alicia Lopez on the corner of 4th Ave and 29th street in historic South Tucson. The restaurant is now owned by Ernest Lopez Jr. and wife Yolanda. Sons Jimmy and ErnieIII help run the family business. The name Mi Nidito which means "My little Nest" was given to the restaurant because of its original small size.Mi Nidito has grown over the years, but has not lost it's quality and charm. It is important to maintain the friendly environment that has made Mi Nidito a family favorite.

November 20, 2018Amazing service. There food has always been fantastic, with all the flavors and sides. There is this one waiter that has been there for a while. He is so nice. I would try to get him. If you are coming with a party size group, or party of two, you should come early to get a table. If you bring a cake, they can provide a knife and plates.

October 23, 2018Mi Nidito is an extremely popular place amongst Tucson locals for Mexican dishes and drinks. There is usually a long wait, but you can order drinks from host while passing the time. The soups stand out as top dishes. The combination platters are a good mash-up for the indecisive. Adding pics of their latest menu.

October 4, 2018I really don’t understand the big hype about this place! I have lived in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Dallas, Nashville and Phoenix, and have had excellent Mexican Food. This place is not one of them! I had to park 2 blocks away, waited 1 hour for table and 15 minutes for drinks! The service was lacking and not friendly at all! The food was definitely nothing great! The tacos were ok, but the nachos and burritos were terrible! I will never go here again! I had to apologize to my 6 guest I brought along for recommending this place. Go alone first to try it out. You will see it’s not worth it!

August 23, 2018We like to try local (non chain) restaurants and this one was rating at the top. We pulled up Thursday night at 7:30 and there was a line around the building, even in the rain. We stuck it out after a 45 minutes estimated wait. So glad we did! First off they kept delivering drinks to the waiting area and it moved much faster than our original estimate. Service was quick yet attentive and timely! Food overall was amazing. I ventured out and tried something new. I had the dried beef burro. The owner Jimmy said they’re are only 3-4 places do this regional specialty in the area. I would say it was great.

July 7, 2018You dont need the celebrity photos on the wall or the line put the door to know this place is a step above the rest. The smells alone will let you know your in for a treat. The service is on point, the menu is concise, and this unassuming joint will have you coming back in no time.
