Magnolia Room Restaurant

Incredible food! Only complaint is that the food takes a while to be ready but otherwise is perfect!

We went to the Magnolia Room based on what we learned about it on the Curious Cape May bike tour. We heard that the fried chicken and biscuits were amazing. Overall, we thought our meal was good not great. As other reviews mentioned the food was not hot, but it was warm. We got one half fried chicken, the scallops, the chowder, and a lot of mac and cheese. Oddly, the famous chicken was our least favorite. It was a little dry and rubbery in some places. The scallops were the best thing we ordered. Everything else was good, not great.The chocolate pie was good and the snow pie was just ok. The latter, a white chocolate pie tasted more like cheese cake than white chocolate pie.We loved the dinner rolls. Our only disappointment was we couldn't get more.Lastly, Dillon, our waiter was fantastic!

Enjoyed a truly pleasant dinner on the porch. Service was excellent and food was very good .

Great southern style dining in an historic hotel.

My husband, children and I went to the Magnolia Room for dinner. It had been recommended to us as a classic dining experience while in Cape May. We were able to get a reservation without any issue. Dillon, our server, was wonderful - professional, personable, and informative about the restaurant and hotel. He made great recommendations and was very accommodating and friendly to our children. It happened to be my birthday and he surprised me with a candle on my dessert, which was very thoughtful (especially because it came without a big song and dance). Every staff member we encountered was wonderful. The experience was perfect - special but comfortable. Even our table neighbors were lovely! The food was very good - particularly the snow pie! I would highly recommend the restaurant for anyone looking for a special meal while visiting Cape May.

Chicken Was great

Always a treat...great food and ambiance.

Southern fried chicken is the specialty for the Chalfonte. My wife and I thought the chicken was ok. We enjoyed the drinks and dining on the patio was devine. We enjoyed watching the horse and carriage tours circle the house as we dined.

Excellent! I had the avacado salad--a special menu item and the beef rid app. The salad was bright and refreshing, perfect for summer. The ribs were deboned and just melted in my mouth, burting with flavor.
