John Andrews Farmhouse offers a unique farm-to-table dining experience in the Berkshires. Built in the late 1700s, the restaurant’s rustic, country charm is enhanced by a cozy fireplace in winter months and, in summer, al fresco dining is available on the terrace. The restaurant features New American cuisine with Italian influences, rooted in the region's agricultural history. Dan Smith has been the chef-owner since 1990, creating seasonal menus long before farm-to-table was a trend. Known as the “architect of modern Berkshire cooking,” as coined by Travel & Leisure, Dan offers a unique taste-of-place dining experience. Named one of the World’s 25 Best Farmstead Experiences in The Daily Meal, John Andrews Farmhouse is a Lonely Planet Top Choice and has been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence, Yankee Magazine Editor’s Choice and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Prix Fixe specials include Mom’s Meatloaf Monday (winter only) and Giovedi on Thursday nights (year round). John Andrews offers an extensive wine list, full cocktail bar and a lighter-fare bar menu. Open Thursday to Tuesday and closed Wednesdays, all major credit cards are accepted.

August 17, 2018Just ordered the dinner for 2. Meat loaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli, salad and bread pudding. Luckily I had plastic ware in my car since we were passing through and wanted to eat. It was delicious. We managed very nicely. Thank you. Would surely recommend you highly.

May 16, 2018Wonderful! At first when you drive up its not the most eye-catching place. However, the restaurant exemplifies that there is elegance in simplicity. The ambiance was very soothing and inviting. The place was crowded yet not loud. The wait staff were very courteous and attentive without smothering. They gave us time to order and we never felt rushed. The food, amazing! We had the Brasied Oxtail to start. I can't explain how delicious it was. Small portion but packed a punch. Next we had Lamb and duck. Both plates were aesthetically pleasing and has to the taste to match. The dessert was ridiculous. The almond cake was to die for. Warm, sweet (but not too sweet), and packed full of taste. The prices were very reasonable as well. Overall the experience was amazing and I would highly recommend John Andrews if you're in town.

May 4, 2018The duck entrée was delicious. The menu looks terrific and offers some more casual fare in case you're not looking to spend as much. I could try everything on the menu, it all sounds amazing. Nice, quiet atmosphere, but the house and decor have a warm personality. Friendly staff. Best place i've eaten in the Berkshires. Will return.
