January 5, 2018From the moment we walked through the door, my wife and I were blown away by the extremely welcoming and friendly service staff. Our server gave us a tasting to help us choose the right sake, and was very knowledgeable in all the sakes offered. We got the ahi tuna poke tacos for a starter and we're amazed by the flavor, presentation, and quality of ingredients. We got a few sushi rolls to round out our meal and can honestly say without a doubt that it was THE BEST spicy tuna we have ever eaten, and that is saying something, having been to Tokyo and numerous sushi restaurants around the world. Highly recommend a stop at this wonderful establishment when on Kauai, you will not be disappointed!

October 14, 2017Popular among tourists. We went for dinner as soon as they opened and there was only one table for four that was not already reserved. We lucked out but I would suggest reserving for dinner. Good izakaya style menu.

September 7, 2017Small restaurant with incredibly fresh ingredients. The best poke tacos on the island! The soy sauce is made in house. Everything that we had was top notch, down to the smallest detail. Parking was easy, service was friendly, and place was clean!

July 9, 2017Top quality seafood and service at this tiny but lovely venue. Their poke bowl was among the best we had in Kauai. For those looking for hand selected Japanese gifts, they have a small shop as well. We so enjoyed our lunch here!

May 4, 2017This restaurant is located in the cutest little town we found in Hanapepe, Kauai (Hawaii). It's maybe 3 blocks long. When we got to this place, they were a little busy but we managed to get a table quickly. We had to ask for water 3 times. It was a hot day, the food was salty, and we were very thirsty. I found the portions to be small, but the prices weren't. The quality is good & we went based on a recommendation. Be sure to check out the town which has some great shops and the rocking bridge.

February 24, 2017WOW! We had read about Japanese Grandma's in our guide book, and our Shaka Tour also mentioned it. We LOVED the food. Living in San Francisco, we know poor, mediocre, good and excellent sushi. This was up there in the excellent category. Highly recommended!
