Located in what is known as “The Heart of San Francisco’s Chinatown”, International Cafe (iCafe) is where the heart of the city beats. The cafe is situated across the street from the historical Portsmouth Square; where the discovery of gold in California was first announced, and where the city was given its name. iCafe originally opened its doors in 2001 as a delicatessen for cured Chinese sausages and meats traditionally hand made using family recipes. In 2012 it was transformed to a cafe, adding coffee and pastries alongside its menu of famous Chinese sausages. iCafe also serves as a space for the local community to come together, and where visitors can experience the convergence of West meets East. Come listen to Chinese Opera from the square every Saturday (1p-4:30p), while taking in the featured work by local graffiti artist Nate1 on our walls. All Hong Kong style floral arrangements on display in the cafe are designed by Krystle’s Flowers and are available to purchase.

Their pork bun was not a regular steamed pork bun. It was more like a sweet bread. Worth trying!

Good mint honey lemon tea. Friendly with a decent variety of Hk style pastries. Did not try the coffee. Atmosphere is laid back and convenient in Chinatown. Mango and sesame mochi were excellent.

I come here for coffee and mochi. With a stamp card you can save up for free coffee. The owner, Nobu, is really nice. They also have specialty items like red bean pudding sometimes. It's cash only but lots of banks around with ATMs. I like looking out at Portsmouth Square where people gather and do events. iCafe also has Boba and blended drinks.

The best Mochi pastry I've tried in SF. Must try! Refreshing boba drinks in SF Chinatown, especially the peach flavor one.

Great very strong and very cheap coffee. Had a durian puff pastry, yuck, but a really intriguing aftertaste.

A regular crepe and brunch place. The ordering service is extremely slow, majorly because the cashier also makes drinks. Also, they put out a tip selection upfront if you use credit card, even before you get the food.

Pretty good coffee. Hard to find a coffee shop in Chinatown so this is the place to go.

The cafe owner is so kind and helpful. Wifi is good. No obvious public restroom. Outdoor seating overlooking the small park. Loved the durian mochi.
