Golden Tee Restaurant

I’m reviewing the little shop with snacks, beverages and sandwiches. Lady over charged and said she did because we did mention “the deal”. Then argued that cheezits aren’t chips. Screamed that I was a weirdo. She shouldn’t be working in public if she can’t control her attitude lol.

I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, and the view was spectacular.

Staff is always friendly. We were at the bar. Drinks are decent. Tubes and tentacle calamari were probably a little over-cooked but were still good. The open face steak sandwich was very good.

Had lunch there today. Atmosphere was kind of quiet, not worried. Found out there was an ownership change very recently. Menu looked the same and the food was good. Bus boy needs much training. Waiter needs to smile never came by to check on us, never saw him til he came by with the check. This Restaurant has been one of our favorites for over 30 years. My word to the new owners....please don't let it die. I will go beck in a while to see if changes have been made.

Apparently they changed ownership a few months ago. I’ve been coming here for almost 40 years. I always come for the Sanddabs as they were always the best! They used to lightly dust them with flour & sauté them. They now Panko crust them and fry them. Now they’re just like everyone else’s & just average. They were alright but not what we were expecting!

We love watching planes while having lunch. Sit on the patio for the best views. We enjoyed the calamari appetizer, calamari sandwich, a burger, as well as the Buffalo chicken appetizer. I want a huge fan of the chicken but we loved the calamari.

Restaurant is under new ownership. It appears they have revamped the menu and got rid of a ton options and replaced with high cost items. It looks like the new owner is trying to appeal to a different crowd. This is unfortunate as I'm sure this will push some of the local business away. The calamari sandwich now comes with half the calamari than before. This is terrible. I'll be honest, I'm upset they removed the cobb salad, but the whole menu change is what warrants this review.

We went for the calamari steaks. I was here several years ago, and I remembered them. My husband ordered the calamari steaks, and I ordered the calamari/sand dab combo. It was good, but we both thought that the breading could have used more seasonings. I guess San Antonio has worn off on us. We like things spicy!I ordered a Singapore Sling, a drink that I haven't had in many years! The menu features several old-fashioned drinks, which is fun.It was nice to have such a close view of the airport runway, but since it was evening, tiny Monterey Regional airport wasn't busy.
