First off, the old sign over the door says Sam's Place. The real name is Earth Cup though, not Coffee Market like it says here. I'm not a coffee aficionado, I mostly choose coffee shops for the people, lighting, etc. I like Earth Cup, the people who work there are friendly and I like their playlists. The lighting is pretty good if you like to sit and draw or write. It's a smaller, quieter place. When the weather is good there's an outdoor deck rather than sitting at a table on the sidewalk. It's also on the side street so you get less traffic noise. That's pretty much it. And I'm only giving it 4 stars because I really don't give fives.

What a gem. I've been looking to try this place for a long time since I passed by it on the way to... Well just about everywhere in West Philly. The coffee is fantastic, their atmosphere is cozy and genuine, not the least bit forced. They have 4 or 5 tables inside and some outdoor seating as well on a patio area. I had a soy latte with extra espresso and a sesame bagel with vegan cream cheese, both top notch. Highly recommendednote: while they did have vegan cream cheese, most of their baked goods had either milk or eggs, so vegans may have a more difficult time eating

One of the best coffee shops in Philly. Great staff. They have me as a regular. Amazing, cozy spot!

As other reviewers have mentioned, the name of this cafe is now Earth Cup and it is now under new management from its predecessor Coffee Market. I used to come to this place periodically when it was under its previous entity as I used to live right across the street, and while I loved the coffee, I was put off by the lack of WiFi and the sometimes gruff customer service. HOWEVER, once they re-opened as Earth Cup, and since I have moved elsewhere in the neighborhood, I am more eager to frequent the cafe now that the service is significantly friendlier, there is free WiFi, awesome music playing, and the food selection has expanded. They also now host monthly open mic nights to which I unfortunately can’t make it due to work, but I’m hoping maybe at some point I can swing it. I especially love the apple cake, the danish (as pictured), and the bagels with salmon and cream cheese. Definitely one of my standard go-to’s in the neighborhood since its remodel.

West Philly vibes are through the roof. Good coffee, my friend swears their lox bagels are the best around. Baristas are very friendly. Cute little place (emphasis on little)

Coffee average and expensive. Need more fresh food options.
