Cortez Mexican Restaurant

We take the family as a treat when we can. Their buffet has just enough variety to give you options each time you go there. My wife loves their Chile Verde. My favorite is Enrique's special and the Chicken Mole. It is simple, but tasty Mexican food. The owner is a great guy and he is always willing to talk but is not intrusive. They have weekend events for boxing matches and they go on vacation each year about the same time. What does that tell you if a restaurant has to close when the family goes on vacation? This is a gem inside the somewhat rusty crown of the North End. I would suggest it for anyone who just wants to eat. If you want a hipster-friendly chain that panders to your wishes then you are right, it is not for you.Man! That does it, we are going tonight. Cya there.

Friendly staff, fun place

Is it 100% "authentic"? Like other reviews say, maybe not. But it's still good! We used to come here years ago and visited again when we were in town. It was a treat. Loved the guacamole. We will continue to visit when we are around.

Awesome food!

I had good service and good beer, but the meat for my fajitas stunk! I mean, it had a really bad odor!

I have been here 3 or 4 times in the past 3 mos, and we love this place. The buffet is awesome. I have never had bad service. The owner has actually been there each time we have been in. And he has always come to our table and asked us how everything was. They close in the mid day from 2pm til 5pm. and we did not know this. We ended up showing up for dinner about 4:40pm, and the owner told us to give him 5 mins and then they served us early even. The tamale's are amazing. as with the rest of the food. I have 4 boys, 2 of them teenagers and they all love it there. And anyone who has teenagers knows they are hard to please. Great place overall, and we will definately be back

Went their with wife a year ago.Poor service and the food tasted like a TV dinner!! Really I think they buy frozen food then heat it up!!Terrible!!
