The food here is amazing! You get what you pay for! The portions are huge, and honestly all the food was spectacular. I got the steak, and funeral potatoes and loved all of it! The ambience is wonderful as well.

I have visited Communal 5 times for 3 different meal times and have always left satisfied and happy with our service. This is a unique environment and setting for any restaurant and it is comfortable and pleasant. The food is really quite excellent, not just for Provo, or Utah county, or Utah. I have eaten at some very acclaimed restaurants across the US stands out as one of the best. Will continue to bring more and more people to try their wonderful dishes.

The food can be really good but it just depends what day you go. We ordered some eggs Benedict and all eggs were overcooked and the waitress rolled her eyes at us when we mentioned it. Fun environment but I’d recommend going to the Block for brunch instead of Communal.

Been here twice, fancy and expensive. The food is FANTASTIC though. The idea is you order dishes and share them with your table, which wasn't my favorite the second time I went because everyone wanted meat and I didn't. If money's no object.. you've gotta try it though. The waiters can tell you where they get all of their ingredients #local

This is my third visit to Communal. Each time the hosts and servers have been attentive and friendly. I usually sit at the 'bar' where the cooks prepare food in front of you. The cooks have been quick and accurate with the food and are good conversationalists. The butternut squash soup is to die for.

Such a nice experience so far. Unique experience. You get a unique atmosphere and share a table with others. It’s quite... strange for an introvert but a cute idea. Staff are friendly. The food is very flavorful. It’s a little strong over time, but still very good. Each dish is enough for two people. So the price is actually very nice.

This was our first time trying Communal. If you’ve never been before the meals are served family style. The food was very good and tasted like a delicious home cooked meal, a very special nice home cooked meal. In other words, it tasted fresh. Things are a bit pricey, but if you want to splurge a little, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

The food is delicious but the service wasn’t as good as it could have been. The waiter got my drink order wrong and it was pretty slow getting our food even though we had called in beforehand. Otherwise though I will definitely be going back! The chicken is absolutely divine.

They have amazing food, especially the funeral potatoes. ( Trust me and get the potatoes ) you'll want to call ahead and go with a large group to try a variety of dishes. The food is served family style.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but while Communal is certainly good in general, I haven't been convinced of the hype. Maybe it's because I've only been here for business meals (versus a more relaxed, personal setting) but after each time I find that I'm not all that interested in returning on my own dime.In particular this last time there was some sort of slow roasted pork dish, and it was so overwhelmingly salty it caught me really off guard. Maybe the family style format just doesn't jive with me all the way, either. All said, I still think it's a fine restaurant and has generally good food. Would be worth trying but I don't see it in my normal rotation so far.
