Café Sbisa, established in 1899 and the third oldest fine-dining establishment in the French Quarter, is proud to re-open under the direction of a new team to once again offer the highest quality French-Creole cuisine in a welcoming, historical setting that both locals and tourists will appreciate. Spearheading the new Café Sbisa are Mr. Craig Napoli, who successfully ran the notable restaurant from 1992 - 2005 when Hurricane Katrina devastated the city, and Chef Alfred Singleton, who met Craig when he started working for him at the former Café Sbisa as a prep cook. Now, the unique venue will once again open its doors to serve classic local fare like Turtle Soup, Louisiana Blue Crab Cakes and BBQ Shrimp using the freshest, locally-sourced seafood and produce. While many restaurants tout “fresh and local”, Sbisa means it, as the Napoli family owns their own seafood dock and distribution business in Hopedale, Louisiana. The Sbisa team has been diligently working to renovate the notorious building directly across the street from the French Market while ensuring its old-world charm is maintained, including a hand-carved mahogany bar dating back to 1903. Patrons will still be able to view famous artist and one-time Sbisa regular George Dureau’s painting above the bar; the mural of French Quarterites including Sbisa employees, regulars and Dureau himself has shined for decades and will continue to be an artistic centerpiece. We look forward to meeting you during dinner or weekend brunch and are confident you'll walk away feeling pleasantly satisfied, having just had one of your most memorable dining experiences inside our four walls.

September 26, 2018What a pleasure. It's become our "go to" Jazz Brunch for every trip to New Orleans. Established in 1899 - so lots of character. Jazz band was wonderful! Service is so 1st class. With a party of 7, when our food came they gathered enough servers to deliver all our plates at exactly the same time. Bottomless Mimosas were immediately refilled if they were 1/2 empty. Today's special Country gumbo was overloaded with seafood... Turtle soup was also very good. 2 different Omelettes ordered, both wonderful, as was the shrimp and grits and eggs Benedict. Too full for desert, so instead had a yummy chocolate martini made with pecan vodka! Birthday boy got a complementary bread pudding with ice cream topped with run caramel and chocolate It's our favorite and happy to share with our friends!

September 22, 2018As we walked into Cafe Sbisa we were greeted with a warm and friendly smile, and seated promptly. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, romantic and full of New Orleans charm. It was the best meal and dining experience on our trip. The staff is very attentive, friendly and extremely professional. Our waitress Jakia was fantastic! Thank you! Sean has been there since 1899 😉 his hospitality and history of the restaurant is outstanding. First course, Crab cakes absolutely delicious and one of the best we have ever had! Second course, hubby had the chicken and sausage gumbo was very yummy and I enjoyed the corn and crab bisque...Omgoodness! Third course, we ordered the Blackened Red fish and the Trout Eugene both were fantastic and perfectly prepared. For Dessert we ordered the Banana pudding parfait creamy and delicious with layers of banana cake and candy pecans that added a delicious crunch. Thank you for a wonderful evening we will definitely be back for another delicious dinner.

September 11, 2018Good Food In The Historic French QuarterMy son-in-law and daughter invited me to eat here for the first time. The place is one of the oldest restaurants around with the expected décor common to the French Quarter. The night we went they had a 2 member band playing jazz music. I ordered the turtle soup, wedge salad, and the lamb chops. The service was excellent and the food was good. This is a place that one would like to try traveling to New Orleans or even a good choice for the locals.

September 9, 2018Came here for my birthday dinner. The staff was super friendly, the food was great, and the wine crisp. The best part they didn't do the cheese birthday sing that makes you want to hide under the table. They all wish me a happy birthday individualy and put a candle in the cake. I was super happy about my time with them and would come back again and again
