Berkeley Cafe

Nearly a 20 minute wait, with FOUR other folks in the place, (three of which are sitting at the bar) to get a simple sandwich. The excuse I got was that the cook was prepping other things in the back and that they had only one cook. Priorities need to be thought about.

Food was alright but the service was awful. The bartender forgot to bring us our drinks because she was playing on her phone (almost empty restaurant). When we left she had someone chase us down the street accusing us of not paying because she had forgotten we had paid the bill at the bar 5 minutes earlier.

Great atmosphere and very kind staff.

Great food and drinks at fair prices. Friendly and attentive staff. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Live music often with an open mic on Wednesday.

Great food. Good quality meats and fresh ingredients. The service was solid and we really enjoyed the philly cheese steak and chicken tender salad. Yum!!!

Not worth the effort.

Overall a very unrewarding lunch experience. My wrap was poor to say the least. My coworker's club was mainly bread and flavorless. Plus it took us over 30 minutes to get our sandwiches with only a couple other patrons. The only positive was that they kept my water filled.With all the options available downtown I would recommend passing on this dive sandwich shop.

Me and 2 of my friends and his kid were there eating this Sunday morning on Nov 3 2019 and the lady at the counter who served us was very rude. All three of us out of 4 left the restaurant and my friend with the child was in restroom. Apparently she didn't know he was in there, because she used the term ' that we were a strange crowd and he felt offensive by the statement. Because there were one black guy a and two white guys and a child. And the older guy has autism. So needless to say this strange crowd won't ever return there.

The staff (although there aren't a lot of people working here) is quite helpful and they serve you with a smile. :)The food here was also good - specially the Ceaser salad that we ordered. Next time I visit downtown Raleigh, I'll surely drop in here :)
