“My favorite place for brunch, but no matter the time there's always good food. The servers are awesome, and they have my favorite coffee in town. They make their own cardamon syrup, and a cardamon latte is one of the best things ever.”

Volunteer Park Cafe

“Hidden in this north Capitol Hill neighborhood is a former grocery store turned into a coveted bakery and restaurant. You cannot go wrong with the daily quiches, cookies, and soups. Many other baked goods and treats to try as well. There is limited outdoor seating when the weather is nice, and it can often get busy so be prepared to wait during peak times.”

“Ordered a double shot Americano, 12 ounces. It didn’t taste very good mostly like hot water. They graciously added another shot but still seems kind of week. I would recommend replacing those robot coffee dispensers with an actual human that knows how to pull a shot.”

“Bulletproof was right down the road from where I was staying, so I decided to swing in for a drink while I was in the area. It's a small shop but nearly organized and clean. My Thai latte drink was great and came quick. Pricing seemed on par for most shops.”

“Excellent American-Korean fusion. The meatloaf sandwich from this place just about blew my socks off and the mac and cheese are delicious! We ordered a fair amount of take-out to try this place and left every box clean! I'll definitely be back.”

Cupcake Royale - Queen Anne

“If this place has, as their signage states, the best cupcakes in Seattle, I wouldn't recommend ever buying a cupcake in Seattle. The cake is dense, dry, tough, and flavorless. The frosting is overly sweet and pasty and tastes nothing like the flavor I got (lavender). Spend your money at a different tourist trap.*Two stars because the employee at the front counter was very polite and helpful.”

“I love taking a quick jog to Caffe Fiore to get a One & One (i.e., shot of espresso and a cappuccino). The staff is super friendly and they have fresh baked goods. The lighting and ambiance is quaint and calming. Check out the old map of Ballard on the wall.”

My Favorite Deli

“New owners have improved this place 5,000 percent. High quality ingredients. Excellent bread. Fast and friendly service. I love the deluxe sub sandwich with avocado added. It's real avocado, not that weird creamy stuff. Reasonable prices and good sized sandwiches. I stop in at least twice a week. I don't know what I would do without it.”

“Great service and very cleanly. The pizza is pretty decent considering its like 4 bucks a slice. I think its satisfying. If you're looking for alazing fluffy homemade crust, look elsewhere. Otherwise, the pizza is not bad and the toppings are delicious.”

“A great place to go to for late-night drinks on the Ave. I would highly recommend their blue "Frozen AMF" lemonade. A surprising amount of booze, and not a bad price. They also have good deals running on certain days of the week for different pitchers of beer. I'm usually in Wednesdays for the deal on the AMF I mentioned earlier. The bacon cheese fries (pan size) are also great to share with the table.”
