“This was my first time to try Ray’s. I ordered the 4 meat plate with brisket, sausage, pork ribs and chicken. I found everything to be delicious and well smoked except for the sausage. They were a little on the spicy side, and I couldn’t get a feel for the smoky flavor that I anticipated. Otherwise, excellent barbecue and excellent sides, which were coleslaw and beans. The service was on point as the counter person was very polite and my order was ready when I arrived. Overall good experience!”

“Not many people in line, but still the wait was long. Food was “meh”; pretty bland. BBQ sauce was runny and no flavor. Best thing was the cole slaw and sweet tea. They do have fried okra, which is not always common. It was very fresh and hot, but nothing to write home about. Pretty expensive for not such a good experience. Two can dine for $27.00. Seems they were low on help. If that’s the case, it still doesn’t make a difference because the flavor of the food was greatly lacking. I honestly hate leaving bad reviews. Just trying to help the public.”

“What a horrible dining experience from the food all the way to the service . we got served an hour after placing our order ,food was missing from the plates we order and at the bottom of the salad we had a large piece of plastic on the plate. we were there for approximately 3 and a half hours and the waitress came back to refill water ONCE when she was notified about the plastic in my food she said “ Okay” didn’t apologize or even asked if we needed a new one After all this they still charged us over 200$ in food that was dry disgusting and it came with plastic how can this place run this way I feel very sorry for the people who come and spend their money here I certainly will NEVER come back here”

“One of the first BBQ places I tried when I moved to Houston and I have been hooked ever since. The employees are always fast and friendly. Anytime family or friends come to visit I suggest this place for a meal. It is a bit pricey not gonna lie but the portions are worth it.”

“Jimee's BBQ is a well-kept secret. Mr. Jimee is a JOY to converse with and serves up service with a smile. The prices are affordable, with hefty portion sizes. The food is expertly flavored...and the brisket (with a little fat) is to DIE for! Jimee's BBQ is my new go-to spot for my BBQ needs!”

“I have researched hundreds of bbq pits from near twenty different manufacturers from small to large. I’ve read all the books including Aaron Franklin’s, and have agonized over every design, every material, and every fuel. When COVID happened things changed and I was going to be cooking all the food for my wedding. My Weber Smokey Mountain would not suffice to cook for 75 people. So I started calling around to see who might have bbq pits in stock that could handle that volume. It was at this time my beautiful fiancee told me she would be getting me a pit as a wedding present! So I called David Klose and talked to him for over an hour. This guy knows his stuff. He helped me pick out a pit, answered all of my questions, and gave me suggestions of some must haves. That’s not surprising for someone who has been building pits for 40 years. How many big pit builders do you call and talk to the owner every single time? I thought about it for a couple days, which is to say I spent that time pouring over his website and emailing him questions, before I decided to pull the trigger. I did not regret that decision once.I decided to order a custom 20x54 Grill Chef square smoker with a 1/2” upgraded firebox and some other upgrades. Then I had to wait. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the shipper “losing” the pit in transit once it arrived here in the Northeast. UPS was a nightmare to deal with but David had my back each step of the way and eventually my pit arrived, and not for lack of trying, UPS couldn’t even destroy it. This pit is a BEAST.This is my first offset pit and it has taken me a couple times to learn what I am doing wrong. Once I got it dialed in my pit is rock solid on temps. This is my first real offset pit and the construction is exceptional. Initially, I was surprised at how well everything fit together for being a entirely hand built pit. This thing is as well put together as a fine watch. Bottom line: call David and buy a pit. He has so many stories and is an excellent wealth of knowledge on all things bbq. BBQ Pits by Klose lives up to its name as the Rolls Royce of bbq pits. Thanks David, I am coming down to Houston to get my next pit.”

“We had finally stopped into Virgie's after years of driving by and always finding it closed. We were so happy our lunch plans included a drive-by Virgie's. No frills, not a wide variety of sides but plenty of flavor offered at this small BBQ place. Everything was mouthwatering and a good quality for the prices listed. It is just good , simple BBQ. They have Big Red at the soda fountain which helps wash down the smoky and salty brisket. MMMmmm. Looking forward to our next visit. Will definitely try some pecan pie.”
