“Reopening of the restaurants under the circumstances of a pandemic is very challenging. Still, some Chicago restaurants are doing a fantastic job to run their business safe and smooth and provide unique dining experiences. Table, donkey, and stick restaurant are some of the places in Chicago where you can be fed deliciously in a safe environment. These people took the infection control on a different level, especially in such a tiny place. You’ll be surprised how thorough and thoughtful their reopening process goes. They explained to guests their safety practices before the meal course, and the guests need to do their part too as well. It would be mutually beneficial to get familiar with the menu and wine list before the dining experience or keep it open on the phone. While they are playing their top game to keep us safe, we need to do the same. Knowing what you want to order minimizes the time of interaction with the staff. This place is on the top of my list of safe Chicago restaurants. Also, their food is fantastic, crazy delicious, and strongly recommended in significant portions.”

“If you've never had waffles here, you're missing out. They import Zuker(sp?) sugar, and it causes it to just melt. Top it with Nutella and gelato, and you've got an amazing combo that can't be beat.”

“Suupper delicious and friendly staff. A really interesting take on vegan tofu wings. We just moved to Chicago and have been trying all the vegan friendly places.. This is up there with our favorites! Almost the whole menu is vegan - I think the only things not vegan are things with cheese, and there are some fantastic vegan cheeses out there so my only recommendation would be to go all in vegan! Right around the corner from the 606 trail so makes for a nice bike ride reward stop. Will be back here without a doubt.”

“I absolutely loved this place. I went Chicago for a much girls trip. A friend recommended this place because we wanted to get dressed up and Eleven Eleven was the perfect spot. The ambience and atmosphere were perfect. The patio was perfect for pictures. The food and drinks were delicious. I recommend the sesame chicken wings, Brussels sprouts, and Parmesan truffle fries. We did have an issue with a couple of the entrees but the owner or manager came right over and took care of my friends and offered a free round of drinks. Perfect evening”

“I had the "Parson's Hot Chicken", which is their version of Nashville Hot Chicken. It was very tasty with the right amount of kick!! It came out piping hot too...just the way I like my food. It was served on white bread with sweet & sour pickles on the side. I only gave 4 stars because the mac & cheese was just meh, but I would recommend this place.”

The Warbler

“The Warbler, and the sister restaurant the Gather are hands down the best restaurants in Chicago right now. They should have a Michelin star. I know they're not going for that but the food is amazing. They do vegetables very well, you can get vegan without bending over backwards on the food choices, and as an omnivore it's fantastic. The service is best, they get consistently amazing people to work there. Finally, especially during covid the ambiance is safe and very comfortable. Lots of outdoor space, very good spacing and they manage to make it feel naturally great without having you think about what's going on you feel safe, comfortable and cool.Highly highly recommended and it won't break the bank.”

“My twin sister and I came here for breakfast to celebrate our 23rd birthday. They do indeed celebrate birthdays, so we got a free red velvet-like cake thing that actually was a little stale. There was no singing by the staff, which is totally understandable because of COVID.The food was really good. I had pancakes with a side of bacon and orange juice (that was a little on the warm side), my sister had French toast and her boyfriend had blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon and a strawberry banana smoothie. The wait was long, about 30min because they were packed. We visited the restaurant on June 20th and guests were only allowed to eat outside on their patio at this point. I am completely fine with that because social distancing and everything. They have umbrellas for each table which is nice because it started to drizzle at one point while we were eating. The only downside is it was still very hot and humid which is uncomfortable when you're eating but the restaurant obviously can't control that.I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking to safely eat out for breakfast or lunch.”
