“The views from patio are amazing, and the food is great as well.”
“Great hospitality, our room was not ready on arrival so they gave us a voucher for the restaurant to eat dinner. We got a delicious sunrise burger, and the 1 pizza we had was enough for 3-4 kids!\nWe stayed in a family cottage, it was a spacious cottage with a king bed and large sofa bed in main room, with 2 twin beds in separate room with shelving unit, a small sink, and a mini fridge. It had a decent size bathroom as well.\nNo microwave, oven or even TV. Great way to escape the digital/entertainment world. Everything was a little dated, but cozy, and clean. It only has 2 chairs by the small table so our family ended up eating on the couch too, and had to play games around the king bed.\nOnly issue we had with the whole stay, was the radiant heater would clink and clang as it heated up, and cooled down every cycle. We didn't notice it during the day, but at night it would wake many of us up every time it cycled. We did stay here in late November, so it was a bit cold at night. I'm sure during spring/summer it wouldn't be a problem, though the units do not have any AC, but there was a portable fan in the unit. We also noticed during the night that the floors are quite creaky when walking around.\nThe views around are astonishing, a lot of short hikes available too. We even had a deck that looked out behind the cabin into the trees, and you really are right in the forest.”
“We found this place on accident. We liked it so much after dining here several times, that we had our wedding reception at the restaurant. It was amazing. They did a fantastic job. If you are in the area, its worth a stop.”
“I've been thinking about this place lately. I was here several years ago, and it was absolutely the most preeminent dinning experience I've ever had. I've had really great Fine Dining meals before, but this was magical. Yes, I said magical. The restaurant is literally teetering on the side of the Big Sur cliffs (if you're afraid of earthquakes, don't go) with large windows that allow an unobstructed view of the Ocean. I was there when some stunning, dramatic weather came through...even the servers were taking pictures... You're like, floating up in the atmosphere over the wide expansive ocean, as the clouds roll past and the sunsets before you, while eating extraordinary food and drinking exciting flavorful cocktails. It really needs 10 stars.”
“I did a bicycle trip riding from San Francisco passing through Big Sur and spent two nights at Deetjen's. I did not want to leave, not just that Big Sur is gorgeous, Deetjen's is cozy, beautiful, the trail behind the Inn gives an incredible view of the ocean. I am failing to describe how beautiful the experience was. Just book a night and experience it yourself.”
“Took a daytrip up to Big Sur so we had to make a pit stop. We ended up ordering a sandwich to Since there are not a lot of places to eat or make a pit stop unless you order something. We got a $18, yeah right? Turkey Club w Crispy bacon which was pretty good. The lady at the counter wasn’t much into it, not sure why or what was going on. People seem edgy especially w the corona virus and social distancing. Wasn’t sure how to read her so we decided to take the sandwich to go. It’s a nice spot w nice views of the ocean. Seating available indoor and outdoors. A”
“I celebrated my PhD yesterday in this great place. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a great evening and the venue was certainly the reason for the successful celebration. The waiters helped in a splendid manner, the cooking was great and my friends were so overjoyed. We shall no dout visit again for more joyful events. thanks very much.”
